The idea for Auckland Artists Network was conceived in late 2020 after the devastating effects the COVID-19 lockdowns had on the Theatre Industry world-wide.
Although New Zealand had it easier than most, the performance opportunities became increasingly scarce and overseas tutors were no longer able to bring their knowledge to our shores. However, with the lockdowns and uncertainty of when the world would become ‘normal’ again, many performers returned home.
We have such an incredible hub of Artists in New Zealand that have had successful careers in the professional theatre scene who have so many skills to pass on.
Let’s keep raising the standard in Auckland. Let’s work together. Let’s network with other artists.
Auckland Artists Network is a platform where all Auckland based Artists can network, connect and share resources with the aim of strengthening Auckland’s theatre scene.
